SASCO Statement on remarks regarding Cde Mbalula sexual impropriety.

SASCO has noted a series of Tweets and social media posts about the alleged impropriety of the Minister of Transport Cde Fikile Mbalula, who is said to have asked for sexual favors from SASCO comrades.

SASCO remains a non sexist organization which believes that everyone’s sexual life is a matter of choice and shall be treated as a private affair. We have however noted a public suggestion that SASCO may be a breeding ground for the kind of impropriety Cde Fikile Mbalula is alleged to be implicated in.

We want to state it categorically clear that we as the South African Students Congress (SASCO) are not involved in any sexual activities of any Comrade nor do we harbor or create any environment that would enable the alleged actions of Cde Mbalula.

If Comrade Mbalula sleeps with boys, then let that be his business for as long as consent is granted.

We as an organization remain steadfast in our resolve to create a safe space for all, ensuring that we truly ensure that SASCO is a best friend on campus.
